Your definitive guide to the most popular Walt Disney World offer for British guests - what it includes, how to qualify, which hotels get the best deal, and how to make the most of every credit.

What is the Disney Free Dining & Drinks offer?

Disney's Free Dining & Drinks offer is the headline early-booker promotion released each spring for the following year's Walt Disney World holidays. Officially known internally as the 'early booker offer', it's the most generous promotion Disney makes available to UK and Irish guests, and it's the one most British Disney fans plan their booking around.

The offer gives qualifying guests a complimentary dining plan - covering meals, snacks, and drinks throughout their stay - when they book a hotel and ticket package. Which dining plan you receive depends on which hotel tier you book: Value, Moderate, or Deluxe. We'll cover each of those in detail below.

For 2027, the offer returns in the same format as 2026, with one significant improvement: you no longer need to book a flight-inclusive package to qualify for the full discount, making it accessible to anyone booking flights independently through Avios, Virgin Points, or direct with an airline.

Who can book the 2027 Free Dining offer?

The offer is available to UK and Irish residents booking a qualifying hotel and ticket package at a Walt Disney World Resort on-site hotel. There is no minimum age or group size requirement - it applies to solo travellers, couples, and families alike.

You do not need to book through Disney directly, though Disney's own booking site (disneypackages.co.uk) and the Walt Disney Travel Company are the primary routes for UK guests booking direct. Third-party UK travel providers such as Virgin Atlantic Holidays, TUI, and Attraction Tickets may also offer the promotion - check with each provider as terms can vary slightly.

What does the 2027 offer include?

The core of the offer is a free dining plan, allocated per person per night of your stay. The specific plan depends on your hotel tier:

Hotel tier Dining plan included Refillable mug Est. saving per adult (14 nights)

Value resorts Quick-Service Meal plan No Up to £320

Moderate resorts Quick-Service Meal plan Yes Up to £320 + mug

Deluxe resorts Table-Service Dining plan Yes Up to £773

On top of the dining plan, the 2027 offer also includes:

Up to £400 off your package (this discount applies without needing a flight-inclusive booking)

A free one-way arrival transfer from Orlando International Airport - for the first 2,500 qualifying bookings at Moderate and Deluxe resorts only, so earlier bookings benefit

Access to on-site benefits including Disney Early Theme Park Entry (30 minutes before the parks open), which is available to all on-site hotel guests regardless of the offer

Eligibility rules: what you need to qualify

Before you book, make sure your trip meets all of the following criteria:

You must book a hotel and ticket package - room-only and ticket-only bookings do not qualify

Your stay must be a minimum of 5 consecutive nights and a maximum of 21 consecutive nights

Split stays do not qualify - your entire hotel booking must be at one Disney on-site hotel

Your package must include a 7-day or 14-day Disney Magic Ticket

You do not need to include flights in your package - booking flights separately is fine

The offer applies to new bookings only - existing 2027 bookings cannot have the dining plan added retrospectively (contact Disney directly to discuss your options if you already have a 2027 booking)

Children under 3 do not require a ticket and therefore do not receive a dining plan - they can eat from an adult's plate at no charge in table-service restaurants

Valid arrival dates for 2027

The offer is available for the following arrival date windows:

3rd January 2027 to 27th March 2027

5th April 2027 to 6th October 2027

21st October 2027 to 19th December 2027

This means the following arrival dates are excluded from the offer:

28th March to 4th April 2027 (Easter period)

7th October to 20th October 2027 (Halloween period)

20th December 2027 onwards (Christmas period)

One important detail: the blackout dates apply to your arrival date only. If you arrive on 6th October 2027 (the last qualifying date before the Halloween blackout) and stay for two weeks, your entire stay qualifies for the free dining plan - even though part of your trip falls within the blackout window. Plan your arrival date carefully if your preferred travel window overlaps with a blackout period.

What can you eat and drink on the dining plan?

The dining plan covers meals, snacks, and drinks at over 170 venues across the Walt Disney World Resort with the Table-Service plan, or over 90 venues with the Quick-Service plan. This includes restaurants in the theme parks, Disney's BoardWalk, and Disney Springs, as well as your resort hotel.

Drink options include soft drinks, mocktails, smoothies, juices, and - for adults - beer, wine, and cocktails at participating locations. Alcohol is included in the dining plan, which is a genuine perk compared to paying as you go at Disney's restaurant prices.

Iconic Disney snacks - Dole Whips, Mickey bars, Mickey waffles, Le Cellier steaks, and more - are all covered. Character dining (breakfast or dinner with Disney characters) counts as a table-service credit and is one of the best ways to maximise the value of the plan if you're on the Table-Service tier.

The Quick-Service vs Table-Service plan: which is better?

This depends entirely on how your family likes to eat at Disney.

Quick-Service Dining Plan

Each person gets one quick-service meal (a main and drink) and one snack per night of their stay. Quick-service restaurants are the counter-service options throughout the parks - think Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom, Satu'li Canteen in Animal Kingdom, or Woody's Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios. These are solid meals, but you won't be sitting in a themed restaurant for a two-hour character dining experience.

The Quick-Service plan is best for families who like flexibility - eating when and where they feel like it, without restaurant booking pressure. It works particularly well for kids who are happy with a burger or pasta.

Table-Service Dining Plan

Each person gets one table-service meal (starter, main, and non-alcoholic drink at most locations), one quick-service meal, and one snack per night. Table-service restaurants include some of Disney's most beloved dining experiences: Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom, Tiffins in Animal Kingdom, The Hollywood Brown Derby, and character dining options like Cinderella's Royal Table or Chef Mickey's.

The Table-Service plan unlocks a dimension of the Disney experience that quick-service simply can't - if character dining is on your wishlist, the Table-Service plan is the only way to access it through the dining plan. It requires more advance planning (restaurant reservations open 60 days before your arrival), but the payoff is significant.

How to make the most of the dining plan

A dining plan is only as good as how you use it. Here's how to get the best value from yours:

Book table-service restaurants 60 days in advance if you're on the Table-Service plan - the most popular spots (Cinderella's Royal Table, Be Our Guest, Ohana) fill up quickly and you'll miss out if you leave it to chance

Use snack credits on high-value items - Dole Whips, Mickey bars, and large popcorn buckets represent better value than a small bag of crisps. Think of each snack credit as roughly equivalent to £5-7 of spending

Don't try to eat to the plan - it's a common mistake to force an extra meal because you have a credit to use. Let hunger guide you and save unused credits for the next day where possible

Alcohol is included at most table-service locations - a glass of wine or a cocktail with dinner adds meaningful value that you'd otherwise pay £10-15 per drink for

The resort-refillable mug (included with Moderate and Deluxe plans) is excellent value if you drink a lot of tea, coffee, or soft drinks at your hotel - use it every morning and evening at minimum

Character dining should be your priority reservation - it's the experience where the Table-Service plan adds the most value over paying out of pocket

How to book

To take advantage of the 2027 Free Dining offer, visit disneypackages.co.uk or contact a Disney-authorised UK travel provider. You'll need to book a qualifying hotel and ticket package with an arrival date within the valid windows listed above.

Disney typically requires a deposit to secure your booking, with the balance due closer to your departure date. The exact deposit amount and payment schedule depends on whether you book direct with Disney or through a travel provider.

If you're considering using Avios or Virgin Points for flights, you can now book those independently and still qualify for the full offer - a significant change from some previous years when the discount required a flight-inclusive package.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book flights through Disney to get the free dining?

No. For 2027, the free dining plan and the up-to-£400 discount are both available without a flight-inclusive package. You can book your flights separately - including through Avios, Virgin Points, or direct with an airline - and still qualify.

Can I add the free dining to an existing 2027 booking?

Not automatically. The offer applies to new bookings only. If you already have a 2027 Walt Disney World booking, contact Disney or your travel provider to discuss whether a rebooking or amendment is possible.

What happens if my trip spans a blackout date?

The blackout dates apply to your arrival date only. As long as you arrive on a qualifying date, your entire stay is covered by the dining plan - even if part of your trip falls in a blackout window.

Can I use dining credits at Disney Springs?

Yes. Disney Springs restaurants are included in the dining plan at participating venues - including some excellent options like Maria & Enzo's, The BOATHOUSE, and STK Orlando.

What if my child turns 3 during the trip?

Children are classified by their age at the time of check-in. If your child is under 3 when you arrive, they won't have dining plan credits for the trip even if they turn 3 during your stay.

Is the dining plan available at all Disney on-site hotels?

The offer covers Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resort hotels. Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas may have different terms - check directly with Disney if you're booking a villa.
